We manufacture meter pits, valve pits, booster station vaults for many utilities throughout the Southeastern United States. Our pits are designed with the utilities in mind, and no other concrete manufacturer knows what Utilities want more than Barger & Sons, Inc. Barger & Sons, Inc. employee's maintain and manage Watts Bar Utility District (WBUD). Watts Bar is a large public drinking water utility that spans more than 5 counties in East Tennessee.
Not all of our meter pit drawings are below. This is because every tank we manufacture can be modified into a meter pit. You can view our most popular designs below and call to request a different tank size if the job requires it.
Aluminum doors are set in place in the pits and can be removed or permanently attached. Aluminum doors come in all sizes but the most popular are a 36" x 36" single door, and 48" x 72" double door. Most utilities just drop the doors in place without permanently attaching them. This makes for easy access inside the pit when repairs or replacements have to be made. Our top seam designs go one step further and allow for the total removal of the top with a backhoe. This gives maximum working room and maneuverability when inside the pit doing major repairs and/or replacements.
We offer the service to preassemble your meter vaults so when the vault is delivered on the jobsite, it is ready to hook up and go. Don't worry about installation. We pressure test all assemblies and we have more than five Distribution II and three Water Treatment Plant 3 technicians supervising and helping assemble vaults. People in the field installing for people in the field.

All vaults are steel reinforced with rebar, reinforcing structural fiber, and poured with a 5,000 psi, 28 day compressive strength concrete mix.
